Leeds United’s full injury list as just two remain absent for Norwich City play-off decider

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will have almost a fully fit squad to choose from for the second leg of their Championship play-off semi-final against his former club Norwich City. Talented man Wilfried Gnonto suffered some “bruising and bleeding” in Sunday’s clash at Carrow Road, but Farke appeared hopeful in his post-match press conference that the Italy international will be fit to be involved in the second half of the tie.

Jaidon Anthony showed flashes of his quality after being introduced for Gnonto in the last quarter of the contest last weekend. Loanee Bournemouth and Daniel James are potential options if Farke wants to freshen things up in the wide positions.

It wouldn’t be a big surprise to see Joel Piroe recalled to the first team in attack after Georginio Rutter’s sub-par game in East Anglia. There is a distinct possibility that Farke could send Piroe to the no. 9 and move Rutter to 10th.

It will be interesting to see if Farke sticks with Archie Gray in midfield. The academy graduate has acquitted himself well at right-back and in midfield this season. Connor Roberts could also enter Farke’s selection thoughts at right-back.

Two players Farke will certainly not be able to call on for Thursday’s second leg at Elland Road are Pascal Struijk and Patrick Bamford. Both are sidelined by injury.

Center back Struijk will not return to action until next season, while striker Bamford is yet to return from a knee problem. Bamford has not featured since United’s 4-3 win at Middlesbrough on April 22. “He definitely needs a couple of weeks to recover and will be missing both legs,” Farke said.
