The man who was taken to hospital after the Croydon stabbing has now been arrested

A man who was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Croydon has been arrested.

Police were called at 5.20pm yesterday (Monday) to reports of a stabbing in the North End.

Emergency services responded to the scene and found a man with a stab wound to the leg.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment where he remained.

His condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

Today (May 14), police confirm he has since been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and handling stolen property.

The crime scenes have now been sealed off.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called to North End, Croydon at around 5.20pm on Monday 13 May following reports of a stabbing. Officers and LAS attended and found a man suffering from a stab wound to his leg.

“He was taken to the hospital for treatment where he is. His condition was later assessed as not life-threatening. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and handling stolen property.

“The crime scenes have now been closed.

“The investigation is being conducted by the South Zone CID.”
