Monaco are interested in Leicester’s Boubakary Soumaré

Les Monégasques are looking for alternative midfield targets after a potential move for Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui (23) fell through. The Belgian midfielder’s move has collapsed due to a major knee injury which was identified during medical tests and could keep the 23-year-old out of action for up to eight months, Foot Market reports.

As a result, the Principality club had to look for other alternative targets to strengthen their midfield targets. Soumaré has become a potential target for the Ligue 1 side. The former Lille midfielder was a key piece for Enzo Maresca’s side who were crowned EFL Championship winners last term.

No bid has yet been submitted for Soumaré, with the Monaco club considering other targets as they look for an alternative to El Aynaoui, but a potential move for the 25-year-old could be one to watch later in the window.
