Bristol Rovers ended their pre-season stay in Portugal with an impressive 2-0 win over Portimonense SC in Liga Portugalia 2.

Omochere’s first goal since joining Pirates was the difference in the first half, with the number 9 hidden by a well-placed pass from Bryant Bilongo across the six-yard box.

A hard-fought game with limited clear-cut chances, goalkeeper Josh Griffiths had to do his best to deny the Portuguese side in both halves with few saves.

The win was wrapped up in the final minute of normal time when substitute Luke Thomas stepped up to the penalty spot to curl home a delightful finish from 12 yards for the win.
