Former Wanderer Mo Faal is determined to make the most of his second chance in the EFL after penning a short-term deal at newly-promoted Crawley Town.

Faal initially made the move from non-league to join the Whites in 2020 after catching the eye while playing for Enfield Town.

However, he made just two first-team appearances at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and was released following a loan spell at Barnet.

The 27-year-old striker has now signed an initial six-month deal at the Broadfield Stadium as Crawley aim to build on last season’s promotion from League Two.

“Buzzed. It’s been something I’ve been waiting for a while, so I’m happy to be here,” he told the club’s official channels.

“A couple of weeks ago I heard from my agent that there might be interest from Crawley. It was done pretty quickly, they wanted to do it and I wanted to do it. It was pretty simple.”

“I feel like I’ve gained the necessary experience throughout this journey, with the highs and more importantly the lows,” he continued.

“I saw how volatile football can be, but how happy it can be. I think this is one of those times and I’m going to take the lessons I’ve learned over the years and bring them here.

“I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work and discipline, it’s going to be tough, but I’m more than up for the challenge.”

Faal returned to Enfield after the exit from Bolton and rediscovered his prolific form. He also had spells at Havant and Waterlooville before heading to Maidstone on loan for the second half of last season.

Crawley started the new season with a home game against Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on a play-off place last season.

“There are a lot of clubs I’m ready to play against, but I’m more excited to show what I can do,” Faal said.

“I think this season – for me and for the club – can only be a good thing. We shouldn’t be underestimated, we showed what we can do last season and why can’t we do it again this year?”
