EPL rivals ‘love’ Ben Doak as Liverpool’s ammunition rises after transfer interest soars in ex-Celtic prodigy

Liverpool will face a major decision over the future of talented teenager Ben Doak this summer.

Leicester are one of a number of clubs interested in signing the Scotland striker either on loan or permanently and could test the Reds with a bid. Doak, 18, is keen for more first-team football after overcoming a serious knee injury last season which required surgery.

That didn’t stop Scotland calling him up for Euro 2024 only for another injury to rule him out of the tournament. But Doak will now see himself as a senior player after the international call-up. The former Celtic kid plans to sit down with manager Arne Slot after the club’s pre-season tour of the USA to see what his options are and decide whether he will go out on loan or not. Liverpool are serious about Doak, but there are so many top players on his way to the first team, including the likes of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.

The Reds must now decide whether to allow Doak to leave permanently or on loan this summer. Any deal would include a strong sell-on clause or possibly a buyout deal, but there is plenty of interest and a loan looks the most likely move for the youngster.
