Appeal for witnesses after dog walker attacked in South Bristol

On Monday, July 22, Avon and Somerset Police launched an appeal for witnesses following an attack on a dog walker in Hengrove. The attack, in which a man and a woman hit a woman walking her dog, happened on July 10 in Walsh Avenue Field, off Hengrove Farm Lane, between 7.30am and 8am.

A 28-year-old woman was detained, being suspected of assault. Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the man, who is described as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5ft 8ins of large build with stubble, a receding hairline and gray hair.

He was seen wearing a green/grey t-shirt with blue jeans. The man and woman were riding a Jack Russell that was white with brown spots.

The man who defrauded an aged care home resident has been jailed

Nikola Penevski, 35, of Walsh Avenue, Hengrove, admitted abusing his position as deputy director of Rosedale House Care Home to withdraw more than £40,000 from the bank account of the vulnerable victim, who died in March last. Bristol Crown Court heard how Penevski, using the victim’s bank card, made dozens of withdrawals between January 2022 and December of the same year, until this activity was flagged by the bank.

Penevski was sentenced to 27 months in prison on Wednesday, July 24. You can read more about the case here.

‘Prolific’ thief from Bristol has been banned from three areas of Bristol

Jack Langlais, 29, from Knowle, has been banned from the Brislington, St George and St Anne areas of Bristol for two years under a Criminal Behavior Order (CBO). He is also not permitted to enter commercial or commercial premises from which he is currently barred by the owners or management company respectively.
