Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a high-rise block of flats in Bradford

FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze at a high-rise block of flats in Bradford.

Crews from Bradford, Fairweather Green and Stanningley fire stations were called to the incident on Otley Road.

The call was received yesterday by the fire department shortly after 2:50 p.m.

According to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS), “no one was involved” in the fire.

A WYFRS spokesman said: “This was a fire in a flat in a high rise property.

“Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a high-powered fan to clear the smoke.

“No people were involved.

“Smoke detectors were fitted and working at the time of the incident.”

The cause of the fire was not given.
