Live: Newham stabbing leaves young man dead in Plashet Park fight and two teenagers in hospital

A murder investigation has been launched following a fatal stabbing in an east London park. Met Police officers were called at 7.38pm on Saturday 27 July to reports of a fight in Plashet Park.

The police intervened and found a young man suffering from stab wounds. Despite emergency first aid from officers and treatment from ambulance colleagues, the man sadly died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. Officers believe they know the identity of the man, who they understand is in his 20s. Inquiries are ongoing to identify and inform his family.

Two teenagers were also found at the scene, one with stab wounds and the second with head injuries. Both were taken to the hospital; neither is in a life-threatening condition.
