Aston Villa and £40m conundrum as Jhon Duran deal could hold key to Joao Felix transfer

West Ham are said to be ready to up the ante in their pursuit of Jhon Duran, with the Aston Villa striker already in hot water over a future move.

The Colombia international faces disciplinary action after making his feelings about his preferred destination very clear this summer.

He took to social media on Friday to do the familiar Irons crossed-arms gesture in front of the camera, a clear reference to West Ham, with almost 1,000 people watching the stream.

Villa are understood to be looking into the matter, with his gesture seen as disrespectful to the club, his team-mates and supporters – and it looks like disciplinary action will follow unless a deal is struck.

With that in mind, the Hammers are said to be ready to submit an improved offer for the 20-year-old, who is valued at around £40million by Villa.

The Hammers have seen a bid of around £30million plus 18-year-old midfielder Lewis Orford rejected by Villa, but are understood to have not given up on a player who is understood to have already agreed personal terms on a deal of five years.
