Nottingham Forest and Aaron Ramsdale, the truth behind the transfer ‘hint’ and Arsenal hint

Nottingham Forest being linked with Aaron Ramsdale has got Reds fans talking – not least because the Arsenal man was only recently seen taking a goal kick away from the City Ground.

According to The Sun, Forest are looking at a potential loan move for Ramsdale. The Gunners’ £50m price tag is somewhat off-putting, but the Reds are said to be prepared to hold out in the hope that Arsenal will sanction a loan move later in the window.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo already has a decision to make on who will be his number 1 for next season, with summer signing Carlos Miguel set to battle it out with Matz Sels for a place in the squad. But with a question mark over Matt Turner’s future if he moves to Forest, they may have to decide whether they want to re-enter the market to secure three senior options on the cards.

Ramsdale looks likely to move away from the Emirates this summer. He sits behind David Raya in the pecking order and expressed his frustrations at spending much of the last term watching from the bench.

Speaking while on duty with England at this summer’s Euros, he said: “No footballer wants to not play. I’ve had a tough year personally not playing and I never want to do that again. It was tough, it was hard”.

Shortly after the Three Lions returned from Germany, Ramsdale found himself in close proximity to Forest’s home. Nothing to read though, he was at Trent Bridge to watch the cricket.
