The Liverpool defender confirms how Arne Slot wants to press after replacing Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has told how new manager Arne Slot wants the Reds to press next season compared to Jurgen Klopp.

The Anfield squad is undergoing its biggest change in nearly a decade with the appointment of Arne Slot, with Jurgen Klopp stepping down as Liverpool manager this summer after nine incredibly successful years in the hot seat.

With Harvey Elliott highlighting the changes to the Slot system, the general view among Liverpool players is that the Dutch manager will not change much of what Klopp has implemented over the years on Merseyside.

And defender Conor Bradley has now shared what Slot’s pressing will be like compared to Klopp’s.

Slot pushes to be ‘quite similar’ to Klopp’s at Liverpool

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Northern Ireland international noted that Slot and Klopp’s pressing styles are not too different, with the Dutch manager keen to win the ball back as quickly as possible when out of possession.

With Liverpool’s success under Klopp based on how aggressively the Reds have pressed, maintaining that style could be key to Slot succeeding in his first year on the touchline at Anfield.

And for Bradley, the system could be one that Liverpool’s players already understand, with the defender saying when asked about Slot’s different pressing style compared to Klopp’s: “Probably a bit more structure in the training.

“Obviously off the ball it’s quite similar, we still want to press when we lose the ball, we still want it back as quickly as we can. There aren’t massive changes, but there are just small tweaks that will hopefully make us better. Was very well.”

The slot is perfect for Liverpool to evolve tactically next season

Klopp left Liverpool at the right time, with the German manager taking the Reds as far as they could go in nine brilliant years that included a Premier League, a UEFA Champions League and numerous domestic titles.

And in Slot, Liverpool now have the perfect manager to take the Merseyside club into their next era, with the Dutch coach ideal to take Klopp’s ideas and evolve them into something new and exciting.

Indeed, the Anfield team is ready for something new, and Slot can be the man to bring about that change if he can get his ideas right and get his message across to the whole squad, which seems to be happening already.
