The body of the missing Calne man has been found in the water, Wiltshire Police said

The body of a missing Calne man has been found in the water, Wiltshire Police said.

Police have been searching for Robert, 82, after he was reported missing on Sunday (July 28).

He had not been seen or spoken to since visiting Tesco in Calne on Friday afternoon (July 26).

Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers were deployed to the area and following a search, his body was located in the water in High Penn.

In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a body has been found in the search for missing Calne man Robert.

“Robert, aged 82, was reported missing yesterday (28/7) and has not been seen or heard from since Friday.

“Sadly this morning (29/7) a body was located in the water in High Penn, Calne.

“Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Robert’s family have been informed of the latest developments and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
