Liverpool make inquiry for £110m star as Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold position emerges

Liverpool have been very quiet so far in the summer transfer window, with head coach Arne Slot yet to make any new signings to his squad. Currently in the United States for their pre-season tour, the Reds beat Real Betis 1-0 on Saturday and will face two Premier League sides in the coming days.

Slott’s side face Arsenal on Thursday morning (12.30pm) before facing Manchester United on Sunday morning (12.30pm). They will then return to the UK to welcome fans back to Anfield for their final friendly against Sevilla on August 11.

The Dutch boss could be set for a timely boost with Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate set to link up with the USA squad this week. But it remains to be seen if they will be served with minutes against Arsenal.

The Reds are making an inquiry for the £110million striker

Liverpool are keen to strengthen their attacking options this summer. Reports in Italy suggest the Reds are looking to make a “bold move” by signing £110m (€130m) striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Corriere dello Sport (via TEAMtalk ) claim Liverpool have made an inquiry for Osimhen, who has contributed 76 goals in 133 appearances since joining Italian side Lille in 2020. The 25-year-old’s asking price has put so far the clubs disable the negotiation of a move.

It has forced chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis to consider lowering his asking price, with both Arsenal and Chelsea also linked with a move for Osimhen. The latter are believed to be trying to negotiate a player swap deal with Romelu Lukaku, who is wanted by Antonio Conte at Napoli.

The report adds that Napoli could revise their asking price and the striker could be available for £75m (€90m).
