Coventry teen hero Callum Baker-Osbourne’s legacy as lifeboat volunteers say he will ‘always be in our hearts’

The legacy of hero Coventry teenager Callum Baker-Osbourne will continue to save lives, say grateful volunteers. In fact, they say he and his family “will always be in their hearts.”

Callum was just 18 when he lost his life after saving the lives of his nieces and nephews. They got into trouble while swimming in Poole, Dorset and Callum heroically came to their rescue – but sadly lost their lives doing so.




His family and friends have vowed his “selfless act will forever be remembered” and every year since his tragic death have held a fundraiser in his name at a venue he loved – Pinley Rugby Club

All funds raised on Callum’s Day were donated to Poole RNLI Lifeboat Station and his family and friends headed to the seaside town to hand over the money raised on Callum’s third day.

The event at the rugby club raised £7,853.43, which broke last year’s record, and Anne-Marie Clark, Poole Lifeboat volunteer, said: “We are really grateful to Callum’s family and friends for their incredible fundraising efforts of funds, they have raised over 18,000 in the last three years which is a real testament to Callum’s memory and we know he is already planning for next year.”

She added: “We will remember Callum and know that his family are not only raising the money to help us be with other people in need, but they are also raising awareness and getting the message out about marine safety, knowing how important it is. , we are extremely grateful for all your support.

“Poole will always have Callum and his family in his heart.”
