The popular charity shop returns to Cabot Circus

Popular charity shop Charity Super.Mkt has returned to Bristol after moving from its pop-up shop earlier this year. The multi-charity store came to Bristol last year, taking over the former Hollister store on Concorde Street.

The new store, called Charity Super.Mkt The Edit, is located on Penn Street next to Hugo Boss. Amid the cost of living and climate crises, much-loved clothing has become more popular in recent years, according to the Charity Retail Association.

The new Charity Super.Mkt store is also a pop-up and is expected to open by early fall. However, the lease for the previous store was for six weeks from July 2023 and has been extended until April this year so the new pop-up can be open for longer.

The store brings multiple charities under one roof, with items sold in aid of multiple organizations. In just under a year, the first store in Bristol has raised over £400,000 for a range of UK charities including the Brandon Trust, Shelter and Cancer Research UK and has saved almost 50,000 pre-loved items from the landfill.

The new store up the road from the original site will see weekly stock drops and weekend DJ soundtracks. Participating charities have put together a curated collection of the best second-hand fashion donations.

Maria Chenoweth, co-founder of Charity Super.Mkt and CEO of Traid, said: “Bristol is where I’m from and I found my love for second hand. I’m really pleased that Charity Super.Mkt has proved such a success in the city and we’re entering our second year here. The money that continues to be raised for charities, including Traid, whose CEO, really helps us achieve our charitable goals.

Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Charity Super.Mkt, said: “Shop sustainably with your money going to a good cause, what could be a better way to shop for fashion? Thank you so much to the good people of Bristol for all your continued support of Charity Super.Mkt and to Cabot Circus for your generosity.”
