Leeds United are reportedly in a five-way transfer battle to land the Norwich City star

Leeds United are said to be one of five teams currently in the running for the signature of Norwich City star Gabriel Sara.

Sara, 25, was a standout performer for the Canaries last season, scoring 14 goals and registering 13 assists in 53 appearances for the club. The Brazilian joined Norwich from Sao Paulo in 2022 and has continued to shine in England’s second tier year after year.

Leeds, along with another quartet of clubs in England and beyond, are keen to make the City man a priority this summer ahead of the new season. He can operate in a range of different positions, including as part of a pivot double, in the number ten role or even as a right winger.

According to SportsWitness, Sara is wanted by Leeds, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Galatasaray and now Atalanta. The report also states that Atalanta have a great reputation for scouting players and securing good deals and can offer European football to the talented star given that they won the UEFA Europa League last season.

Norwich City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup will not want to lose one of his main assets so close to the start of the new campaign, especially given their success in reaching the Championship play-offs last season after a sixth place ranking.

Sara was certainly a favorite of Norwich manager David Wagner last season.
