Bristol Community College back to school: Facts to know

FALL RIVER — Believe it or not, the summer of 2024 is almost over. In a few weeks, students across the South Coast will be heading back to school to hit the books again and resume their studies or, in some cases, begin a journey to college for the first time.

Bristol Community College has multiple locations in the region, with its main campus on Elsbree Street in Fall River and satellite campuses in Attleboro, New Bedford and Taunton. Last year, the school enrolled just over 6,000 students, two-thirds of whom attended part-time.

When do classes start at Bristol Community College?

Wednesday, August 28: Bristol EXP, short for Bristol Experience, is an event to familiarize students with campuses and the university environment.

Thursday, August 29: Opening Day for faculty and staff

Tuesday, September 3: The beginning of the courses

Tuesday, September 17: Start of classes for Flex Start students

Friday, October 18: End of the first half of the semester

Monday, October 28: The beginning of the second half of the semester

Friday, December 13: Courses end for the first semester
