Taylor Swift breaks silence on Southport stabbings in emotional tribute

Taylor Swift has expressed her shock and grief following the tragic stabbings in Southport. Two children have been killed in the horrific incident which took place near a Taylor Swift-themed event at a dance school.

Six others are seriously injured in the stabbing, Taylor has now spoken out following the tragedy and shared a heartfelt statement, the Mirror reports.




She said: The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport continues to wash over me and I am in complete shock. The loss of life and innocence and the horrific trauma to everyone who was there, the families and the first responders. They were just little kids at a dance class. I don’t know how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Merseyside Police have confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from the village of Banks on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The arrest followed the “major incident” which took place at a property in Hart Street, Southport, Merseyside, at around 11.50am.

Police Chief Serena Kennedy revealed that in addition to the two deaths, nine other children were injured in the “horrific” attack. Two adults are also reported to be in critical condition. The police chief revealed that the alleged attacker who was “armed with a knife” entered the premises and began attacking the children inside.

She said the force believed the adults were injured while trying “bravely” to protect the children. The incident is not being treated as terror-related.
