Mayor Sadiq Khan unveils first Madame Tussauds figure on London Eye – South London News

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has unveiled his first Madame Tussauds London figure to mark his third term in office following his re-election in May.

Mr Khan and the wax version came face to face this morning at one of London’s most iconic destinations, London Eye.

During his visit, the mayor said he was “honoured” to join the group at Madame Tussauds London.

The figure wears the exact suit worn in Mr Khan’s first mayoral election victory in 2016, which he donated to the Baker Street attraction.

He said: “The attention to detail is outstanding and I am blown away by the talent of the artists.

“I am also proud to be the first figurine to be unveiled in a London Eye bridge. The London Eye is a renowned part of the capital’s skyline and I am delighted that its permanent future has recently been secured – something I have supported since Merlin first announced its plans.”

This new addition to Madame Tussauds London is part of the attraction’s Capital of Culture area, which honors influential figures who have shaped Britain’s cultural landscape.
