Dr Richard Anderson, Head of Learning and Development at High Speed Training, said: “Robust food safety and hygiene practices should be of paramount importance to food businesses. Recently, we have seen many cases of food poisoning and illnesses caused by food-borne bacteria.

“That’s why food hygiene ratings are so important – they directly reflect how safely and hygienically this establishment operates and are critically important to consumers.

“For companies that perform well, a high rating is a real selling point. However, facilities with a low hygiene rating can be extremely disappointing to customers, which ultimately has a significant impact on reputation and profitability.”
