The League champions are eyeing a £26m man as a replacement for ‘amazing’ striker after Leeds United linked

Leeds United are likely to consider signing a striker this summer and one player they have been linked with is a Bayer Leverkusen star, with the German champions now eyeing a replacement.

Joel Piroe has failed to raise his £16m price tag since swapping Wales for Yorkshire after joining Leeds from Swansea, who were knocked out in Sunday’s Championship play-off first leg at Norwich City .

Patrick Bamford is obviously a brilliant option, even if he has critics, but he is injured again at a critical time. Mateo Joseph is a top talent but one for the future who is yet to get a proper chance at Leeds.

So Leeds could do with a striker and Bayer Leverkusen’s Adam Hlozek has been linked with a move to Elland Road if the club are promoted. Leicester are also looking at Hlozek with Leeds only needing £10m.

Czech Republic star Hlozek has been a bit player for Xabi Alonso’s unbeaten Bundesliga champions, registering three assists in one game in a 5-1 win over Frankfurt earlier this month, he looks like a real talent.

Now Sky Germany have given an update on Hlozek’s future and it is that they are preparing for his exit and so much so that Leverkusen have identified a replacement for Hlozek should the striker leave.

Bayer Leverkusen eye replacement for Leeds United targets Hlozek

Reports claim that Hlozek is also on Roma’s radar in Italy, with a £10million bargain fee, and it appears the forward is one Leverkusen could offload in the coming months, with Leeds interested.

Leverkusen are lining up a move should Hlozek leave for Hoffenheim star Maximilian Beier. Rated at a fee of £26m, Beier enjoyed a superb season for Hoffenheim with 15 goals and four assists in 32 games.

So it’s clear the ‘amazing’ Hlozek is seen as a possible player Leverkusen could be willing to take advantage of over the next few months, with Leeds, Leicester and Roma keen, a replacement has been identified.

Leverkusen could use Leeds’ interest to reach an agreement with Summerville

Ironically, it may not be the only deal between Leverkusen and Leeds this summer. Like many clubs, Leverkusen are one of the teams linked with a move for Crysencio Summerville.

If Leeds are intent on signing Hlozek, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Alonso’s side strike a deal involving Hlozek in a deal for Leverkusen to make a move for the Championship Player of the Season.

It’s all hypothetical and it’s possible that more clubs could show interest in Hlozek, but now Leeds are keen on the Leverkusen star if the Whites are to promote and perhaps that helps Summerville move to Germany.
