Manchester City are ready to make a £13million bid for the Real Madrid superstar

Real Madrid and Manchester City have been involved in some epic Champions League contests over the years. The two met in the last 16 of the competition this season and it was the closest tie to date. In the end, it was Carlo Ancelotti’s side who came out on top, beating Pep Guardiola’s side on penalties.

Now, it appears that Manchester City have their eyes on one of Real Madrid’s superstars and are willing to make a successful bid for the player. His future at the Santiago Bernabeu is in doubt as it stands.

As reported by Defensa Central (via FourFourTwo ), Manchester City are interested in signing Toni Kroos this summer. The English club are said to be prepared to pay him wages of £13m-a-year in a short-term deal.

Kroos’ current contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer. And it is unclear whether he will extend his stay at the club. It is very possible that he is on his way out.

Kroos has shown that he can still perform at a high level and remains a regular starter for Real Madrid. So parting ways with the German maestro, despite being 34 years old, might not be a great idea.

Of course, Guardiola and Kroos have already worked together at Bayern Munich. And it’s not hard to see why there might be interest in holding a reunion.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Kroos. It cannot be ignored that retirement is also a possibility for the midfielder. In fact, those rumors have been circulating for the past few years, despite the fact that he has continued to perform at a high level and will be challenging for a record sixth Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
