Leeds Council approves plans for Rob Burrow Center for MND hospital

A new center designed to treat and care for people with motor neurone disease, named after Leeds Rhinos superstar Rob Burrow, has moved a step closer to becoming a reality after being given the go-ahead by local councillors.

The Rob Burrow Center for Motor Neurone Disease will be based at Seacroft Hospital in the city of Leeds, with a £6.8 million treatment center designed to support people like Burrow living with the disease. And last month, Leeds City Council officially gave the go-ahead for the project.

Around £5.6m of the £6.8m target has been raised so far thanks to tireless fundraising from the likes of Burrow and Kevin Sinfield. Sinfield has single-handedly raised millions with his ultramarathon feats – with the successful launch of the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon also contributing hugely.
