On August 23, the Japanese parliament will hold a special session on the BOJ rate hike, Reuters sources say

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s parliament plans to hold a special session on Aug. 23 to discuss the central bank’s decision last month to raise interest rates, government sources said on Tuesday.

The special session, to be chaired by the lower house’s financial affairs committee, is likely to require Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda to attend, the sources said, declining to be identified.

The schedule will be officially decided later on Tuesday.
