Manchester United say Inter’s interest in Bruno Fernandes as summer transfer chief ‘named’

Manchester United are expected to have a very busy summer, perhaps with more exits than income.

Only four players were placed on the no-trade list with a guaranteed exit at the end of the season. Raphael Varane has confirmed his imminent departure at the end of his contract and Anthony Martial is also set to leave.

Jonny Evans also sees his contract expire this summer, while Casemiro could be dropped after an underwhelming campaign. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes could leave if an irresistible offer comes in, but both United and the player are happy with the current situation.

Fernandes ‘inaccessible’ for Inter

MEN Sport understands that Inter and Bayern Munich are interested in Fernandes, who has two years left on his contract with an option for a third. However, Passion e Inter state that Inter may not have the funds to complete a deal.

United would be looking for a substantial fee for their captain despite him turning 30 in September, possibly costing him £60m. This will probably be too expensive for Inter.

The Italians, who have just won the Scudetto, are expected to sell a number of players in the final year of their contract. The report adds that Inter are lining up Napoli’s Piotr Zielinsk, so another midfielder is unlikely to start this summer.
