She cites a 2003 Vanity Fair profile of the late financier, which described another installation in his home. Epstein allegedly kept rows of framed eyeballs from England that were made for wounded soldiers in the entry hall. Das says French Gates felt uneasy “from the moment he walked in the door.”

“I regretted it from the moment I walked in the door. He was disgusting. He was evil personified,” Gates told CBS in 2022.
