Father Brown and the Head of Doctors to bring Panto back to Bedworth – and you can be in it

A TV director behind Father Brown and the Doctors is bringing a panto to Bedworth this Christmas – and you can be in it. Paul Gibson, who is a regular director for Father Brown, Doctors and Sister Boniface, is part of PR Productions, which brings its brand of successful pantomime to the Civic Hall.

PR Productions have been behind an incredible 16-year run of pantomime at the Abbey Theater in Nuneaton. Now, after eight years, the company is returning and will host what will be the venue’s first Christmas Pantomime in 2019.

The Civic Hall is set to reopen in July after being closed for four years and PR Productions’ inimitable version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ will occupy the pantomime’s coveted festive slot.

It will run from Friday December 13 until Christmas Eve, and the search is now underway to find the cast to bring the panto, written by the Nuneaton resident alongside Rob Hiatt and Ray Durkin, to life. As part of this, a launch event is taking place at Bedworth Liberal Club this Sunday (May 19).

This is for anyone who wants to learn more about the show and get involved, on or off stage. This will then lead to open auditions being held at the end of June.

They are looking for a number of main players for leading roles, including the main role of Jack, as well as the main girl, Princess Poppy. Anyone over 16 is encouraged to audition for a lead or ensemble role.

There will also be auditions for two teams of dancers, aged between 17 and 16, and one team of senior dancers who are over 16. Anyone can go to the launch event at the club this Sunday from 6pm.
