Manchester United v Newcastle United LIVE

Let’s analyze these teams, shall we?

Both camps have been ravaged by injuries all season and this is evidenced by the squads fielded by Erik ten Hag and Eddie Howe.

For United’s bare bones, Andre Onana naturally starts in goal, while the centre-back pairing of Casemiro and Jonny Evans is one that no one would have imagined at the start of the campaign. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot are the full-backs, although Dalot is expected to be more adventurous on the left, with Wan-Bissaka trained to contain Anthony Gordon on Newcastle’s left flank.

Kobbie Mainoo and Sofyan Amrabat are the pivot in midfield, with the Moroccan sitting and the youngster given more license to penetrate and take part in training, while Scott McTominay is the most advanced of the engine room trio and will he played more like a Shadow Striker, with natural number 10 Bruno Fernandes deployed as a false nine and Rasmus Hojlund, United’s only recognized forward, dropped to the bench.

Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo are the inside two, with Marcus Rashford back from injury but fit enough to be a substitute, while Lisandro Martinez and Antony are in a similar situation.
