Carnival Cruise Line is sharing news that many passengers will cheer

During the Olympics, many cruise ship passengers were upset about which games they could watch and which were not shown. Cruise lines bid and pay money for every video stream they receive.

When it comes to most sports, ships sailing from US ports often have international streams. That means for something like the Olympics, the cruise line may not offer the NBC/Peacock feed that focuses more on American athletes.

Which sporting events are shown on a ship depends on both the cruise line and the ship. Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships with sports bars, which is most but not all of the ships in their fleets, have more rights to sporting events than ships that don’t.

In some cases, a cruise line may not have access to a popular sporting event because it is not broadcast on the channel that usually carries that sport. It’s also very likely that major events like the Super Bowl will be broadcast without commercials because they receive them from an international stream.

Often times, both Royal Caribbean and Carnival show a selection of games, but not all games. This can be frustrating for fans of the teams, and it is often difficult to see which games will be broadcast on a ship.

Carnival brand ambassador John Heald recently shared some news about which games his cruise line will air during the NFL and college football season.

The carnival will have plenty of NFL football

Heald shared Carnival’s plans for the upcoming NFL season on his Facebook page.

“Okay, let’s talk about football. Not the one I watch, but the one with the quarterbacks and broadheads who wear Joan Collins-style shoulders like she did on the TV show ‘Dysentery,'” he wrote him, getting his name on purpose. it looks right “Dynasty”. “For all of our NFL fans, we are very happy to announce that for the 2024-2025 NFL football season, we will be showing games that are broadcast on the ESPN network with the NFL Syndication and Sunday Ticket package. That means we’ll have Monday Night and ummm, Thursday Night Football.”

That means Carnival should have almost every NFL game with the possible exception of the Christmas games that are on Netflix.

“These games will be shown in sports bars, casino bars, pubs and beer halls (not booths) and other places around the ship. Some games will be shown on the big screen, but not all games, like us. We have a wonderful Dive In Movie program to follow. Of course, we’ll be showing the Super Bowl on the big screens on the Lido and in the main theater as we watch the Cleveland Brownpants win.

Carnival has big plans for college football

The carnival will also feature a healthy selection of college football games.

“Now, I’m moving on to college football. This season we have an agreement to show 12 games per week during the 14-week season, which is more specific to the home port on our US itineraries. Now I have the full idea of what this means to my knowledge. about college sports is probably the same as many of you reading this and your knowledge of cricket. However, I’m sure this is fabulous news for college football fans,” he posted.

Heald’s comments were mostly positive.

“That’s really great to hear. Some people can’t live without their football. I love watching college football,” said Donna Shipp Golonska.

Many posters have shared how much they enjoy watching the games on board.

“I watched my favorite team on the ships twice and it was actually super fun. We spent the rest of the cruise greeting each other. We would see other people at the bar and they would ask where are your friends? says I don’t even know these people, we’re just Bills Mafia,” wrote Michelle Sapanara.
