Liverpool ‘not interested’ in Anthony Gordon move as alternative to Leeds United emerges

Liverpool have no interest in signing Anthony Gordon and are looking at a Leeds United star instead, it has been claimed.

The Reds are already being linked with a number of potential new signings ahead of the summer transfer window. Arne Slot is expected to be Liverpool’s next manager, replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout, and will oversee his first transfer in the process.

Reports emerged earlier this week claiming that Liverpool would be interested in signing Gordon. The England international left Everton last January to complete a £45million move to Newcastle and has since scored 12 goals in 63 appearances for the Magpies.

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville is a target for Liverpool. And now a new update has emerged as to why the Reds are considering a move for Summerville instead of Gordon.

Journalist Ben Jacobs explained that Gordon is not a player of interest to Liverpool, along with Newcastle’s stance on his potential exit.

“Newcastle have no intention of selling Anthony Gordon either, despite recent links with Liverpool,” Jacobs told Caught Offside. “And from what I’m told, there’s no interest from Liverpool,” said the transfer journalist.
