Major emergency services presence in Elmers End as the child was rushed to hospital

A major emergency services presence was pictured on a quiet road after an incident in Elmers End.

A child was found injured on Croydon Road, off Long Lane, just after 7pm yesterday (May 15).

The London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

The child was transported to the hospital for treatment, where his condition is unknown.

The nature of the incident also remains unknown.

Croydon Road can be seen cordoned off by police officers and fire crews in the footage as the incident was dealt with.

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade for further information.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.06pm today (May 15) to reports of an incident near Long Lane in Croydon.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, a member of our motorcycle response unit, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.

“We also sent the London Air Ambulance.

“We treated one child at the scene before taking him to a major trauma center as a priority.”
