Nissan Ariya SUV review: 20 features that make it a special electric vehicle

  • The Nissan Ariya is a compact and stylish electric SUV that debuted in 2023.
  • I recently reviewed a well-equipped Ariya 2024.
  • I was impressed with its design, quiet and comfortable cabin and competitive pricing.

Nissan has sold more than one million Leaf electric vehicles worldwide over the past decade and a half.

Despite that success, the Japanese automaker has been slow to keep pace with the EV market, which has evolved beyond smaller compact cars to SUVs and trucks.

The Ariya SUV, a follow-up to the Leaf, competes with a host of new compact crossovers such as the Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai IONIQ5, Toyota BZ4X and Tesla Model Y.

We recently reviewed a well-equipped 2024 Nissan Ariya with front-wheel drive Empower+ equipment with an as-tested price of $50,440. I was impressed by its sleek styling, quiet and comfortable cabin, and competitive pricing.

The base Ariya starts at $39,590, while the fully loaded Ariya Platinum+ e-4orce starts at $54,190. Empower+ starts at $47,690.

Here are some of Ariya’s most interesting features.
