Shares in Brazil are up at the close; Bovespa rose 0.44% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, it rose 0.44 percent to hit a new all-time high.

The best performers of the session were Itau Unibanco Banco Holding SA (BVMF: ), which rose 2.41% or 0.88 points to trade at 37.46 at the close. Meanwhile Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF: ) added 2.34% or 0.99 points to end at 43.32 and Energy of Minas Gerais Co Preferred (BVMF: ) was up 2.30% or 0 .26 points to 11.55 in late trading.

The worst performers of the session were Sao Martinho SA (BVMF: ), which fell 4.53% or 1.33 points to trade at 28.01 at the close. Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF: ) declined 3.42% or 0.42 points to end at 11.87 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF: ) declined 3.41% or 0 .22 points, up to 6.24.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 471 to 454, with 58 ending unchanged.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.45%, or 11.40, to $2,541.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery fell 1.24%, or 0.94, to $74.59 a barrel, while the December C coffee contract rose 0.67 % or 1.70, up to $256.95.

USD/BRL rose 0.92% to 5.56, while EUR/BRL rose 0.34% to 6.17.

US dollar index futures rose 0.53% to 100.99.
