A grief-stricken father screamed “my son” at the site of a London tower block where a six-year-old fell to his death, a witness said.

The boy died after falling from the 15th floor of Jacobs House in Plaistow, Newham, in the early hours of Thursday morning. A relative of the family has now spoken out as they remain in shock after the tragedy.

Maryan Hadafow told reporters at the scene Thursday that her grandson was getting up early for school when he fell from the kitchen. Arriving at the scene to comfort the family, she told MailOnline: ‘He had got up before his parents and fell from the kitchen window.

“His mum wrote five emails about the windows and doors to the council and said ‘this is not safe for my children’. Akam’s father screamed for help shouting “My son, my son is dead”. Ms Hadafow said the parents were “devastated” and “in a bad way”, questioning how this happened.

Meanwhile, neighbor JJ Armstrong told how he saw a man screaming “my boy, my boy, he’s dead” shortly after the horrifying incident. The 33-year-old father-of-two told the Evening Standard: “I heard something outside. I looked down and saw a man standing over a child screaming “my boy, my boy, my boy is dead” over and over.

“He was angry and going around in circles it was terrible to see. People were looking to see him there, it was terrible.” Paramedics, emergency services and police rushed to the scene but sadly he was pronounced dead.

Flowers have already been left at the scene on Thursday as residents of the tower block were left shaken by the news. A neighbour, who declined to be named, said she heard a man and woman “screaming and crying” in the early morning and was terrified of what could have happened.
