Dick’s Sporting Goods discloses unauthorized third-party access to information

Dick’s Sporting Goods said Wednesday it discovered last week that an unauthorized third party had access to its information systems, including certain confidential data.

Cyber ​​attacks have become increasingly common, with companies having to hire law enforcement to report third parties gaining access and sensitive information through data breaches.

The sporting goods retailer added that it immediately engaged its external cybersecurity experts to investigate and contain the threat.

The company said it has also notified federal law enforcement authorities, but does not know if this incident has disrupted business operations.
