Russian stocks rise at close of trade; MOEX Russia rose 0.31% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, it added 0.31%.

The best performers of the session were Gazprom PAO (MCX: ), which rose 4.57% or 5.69 points to trade at 130.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Ros Agro PLC (MCX: ) added 3.51% or 42.60 points to end at 1,255.20 and Globaltrans Investment Gdr (MCX: ) was up 2.25% or 11.95 points to trade at 543.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were PIK (MCX: ), which declined 3.84% or 27.90 points to trade at 699.10 at the close. Aeroflot ( MCX: ) declined 1.84% or 0.93 points to 49.49 and Bank VTB PAO ( MCX: ) declined 1.15% or 1.12 points to 95.90.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 162 to 82 and 9 ended unchanged.

which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, fell 5.85% to 32.33.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.66%, or 16.80, to $2,554.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery rose 2.01%, or 1.50, to $76.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.22, to $78.70 per barrel.

USD/RUB fell 0.01% to 91.99, while EUR/RUB rose 0.01% to 101.92.

US dollar index futures rose 0.31% to 101.30.
