Boy injured after being hit by car at busy Kingstanding junction

A boy has been injured after a crash between a car and a pedestrian in Kingstanding this afternoon. The child was walking in the area when he was hit at the intersection of Hawthorn Road.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision just before 4.15pm today (Thursday, May 16). Footage shows an ambulance parked where Hawthorn Road meets Dyas Road and Warren Farm Road following the incident.




The boy, whose age has not been released, was found injured when two ambulances and a paramedic arrived at the scene. Fortunately, “his injuries are not believed to be serious”, according to West Midlands Ambulance Service.

He was taken to Good Hope Hospital for further evaluation. The driver of the car involved was discharged at the scene, after being examined by doctors.

A spokesman for the service said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at the junction of Hawthorn Road, Dyas Road and Warren Farm Road at 4.14pm, two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended in front of the place.


“Upon arrival we discovered that the pedestrian, a boy, required treatment for injuries which were not believed to be serious. He was then taken to Good Hope Hospital for further evaluation.

“The driver of the car was assessed and discharged at the scene.” West Midlands Police have been contacted by BirminghamLive for more information.
