Police are issuing an update as the investigation into the knife fight continues

Two people have been released on bail as police continue to investigate a fight that broke out outside a church in broad daylight.

West Yorkshire Police were called to a fight in progress in Church Street, Brighouse – close to Jumble Dyke and St Matthew’s Anglican and Methodist Church – at around 9.30am on Wednesday (May 15).

Two men were found with injuries that appeared to have been caused by a knife, police said.

Both men received treatment and were later arrested.

The police also recovered two knives.

Both men arrested have been released on bail pending further inquiries and the investigation remains ongoing, police confirmed on Thursday (May 16).

It is being treated as an isolated incident.
