Brazil stocks fall at close of trade; Bovespa fell 0.81% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, it was down 0.81%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF: ), which rose 2.40% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.80 at the close. Meanwhile, 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:) added 1.97% or 0.52 points to end at 26.89 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: ) was up 1.94% or 0.94 points to trade at 49.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: ), which decreased 18.18% or 0.98 points to trade at 4.41 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF: ) declined 6.02% or 1.58 points to end at 24.65 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: ) declined 4.26% or 0.62 points to 13.94 .

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 471 to 408, with 48 ending unchanged.

Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) shares fell to a low; down 18.18% or 0.98 to 4.41.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.16%, or 4.10, to $2,531.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for October delivery rose 0.67%, or 0.49, to $74.04 a barrel, while the December C coffee contract fell 1.43% or 3.55, up to $244.05.

USD/BRL rose 0.09% to 5.62, while EUR/BRL fell 0.31% to 6.22.

US dollar index futures fell 0.04% to 101.58.
