The Unite Here union says more than 9,300 workers remain on strike in 7 US cities.

(Reuters) – The Unite Here union said on Tuesday that 9,376 of its U.S. hotel workers remained on strike in seven cities, while strikes in Baltimore and Seattle ended.

About 10,000 hotel workers began a multi-day strike in nine U.S. cities on Sunday after contract talks with hotel operators Marriott International (NASDAQ: ), Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels (NYSE: ) stalled, it was announced the union on Sunday.

“Each city’s strike will last one to three days,” it said.

The major demands at the bargaining table from workers remain higher wages, fair staffing and workload, and a reversal of the COVID-era cutbacks implemented by hotel chains to protect costs.
