Liverpool injury update ahead of Wolves as Jürgen Klopp could get three players back

Liverpool are preparing to say goodbye to Jürgen Klopp this weekend. The German will retire after the clash with Wolves at Anfield but could get a surprise final push for selection.

Klopp saw his side draw with Aston Villa on Monday night and with third place secured, his players will be able to go out and put on a show for their departing boss. Liverpool supporters will also be planning a special farewell to their iconic manager.

He admitted he might not be able to hold back the tears when he walks down the tunnel for the last time and there is unlikely to be a dry eye in the house after nine remarkable years.

Klopp will face the media on Friday for a final pre-match press conference where he will issue an update on the fitness of a number of players. He saw the three return to training on Thursday, with a familiar face surprisingly involved. Here’s the latest injury news ahead of Sunday’s bye.

Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota

Liverpool pair Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota trained on Thursday and should feature in Klopp’s squad against Wolves. Jota has not played since picking up a muscle injury in the win over Fulham last month.

Robertson, meanwhile, missed the equalizer against Aston Villa with a slight blunder, but Klopp later revealed he was not far off. Joe Gomez was replaced at Villa Park at left-back, but Robertson will be expected to return to the starting line-up.
