Saints or West Brom will face Leeds United in the Championship play-off final

LEEDS United sealed their place in the Championship play-off final with an emphatic 4-0 win over Norwich City on Thursday night.

Ilia Gruev’s long-range free-kick caught former Saints keeper Angus Gunn napping to put Leeds on course for glory on seven minutes.

Dutch striker Joel Piroe then beat Gunn to a glorious Willy Gnonto cross to double the Whites’ lead.

Josh Sargent was denied after racing one-on-one to the outstretched hand of Illan Meslier as he tried to dispossess the French keeper.

That miss ended up costing Norwich as Georginio Rutter fired into the top corner five minutes before the break to put the game beyond doubt.

A blistering Leeds capped a brilliant performance in front of a raucous Elland Road crowd as Crysencio Summerville poked home a second-half goal.

Daniel Farke’s side now await the winner of Friday night’s other playoff semi-final between Southampton and West Brom, which is currently 0-0.
