Oppenheimer’s Florence Pugh discusses her role as a “game changer.”

Oppenheimer’s Florence Pugh has spoken about the one role that changed her entire career.

Ahead of the release of Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, the Dune: Part 2 actress reflected on her wide-ranging portfolio, which ranges from Marvel’s Black Widow to popular horror Midsommar to Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women.

In the past, Pugh has spoken about how she avoids being typecast as a “one-trick pony,” but in an exclusive interview with The digital spyPugh revealed the role that shaped her the most as an actress.

Pugh said: “Lady Macbeth was probably the thing that got me to what I wanted to do and what I wanted to be.

“But that was also weird because I was supposed to be doing an American TV show at the time and it got pulled.

“Three weeks later, when I was deciding what kind of actor I wanted to be in the industry, Shaheen Baig sent me this audition for Lady Macbeth.”

When asked about working with Nolan for the first time, Pugh revealed, “I had no expectations, other than that he’s probably the director that every actor would run around the world and pay their own plane ticket for.

“No one could have prepared me for what it was like to work with him, because that is the experience in itself.

“I would have been completely happy never to have seen this movie, as I would have been on that set and watching that man lead and lead the people around him was quite thrilling.”

She added: “That was the gift and it’s also wonderful that he’s producing something amazing too.”

Oppenheimer will be released in theaters on July 21
