What Willy Boly did to Murillo in the 45th minute of Nottingham Forest’s win over Sheffield United

Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield United 3-1 on Saturday but in the 45th minute Willy Boly was less than impressed with a team-mate.

The Reds never take things easy – and there were no exceptions against the already relegated Blades.

Forest fell behind after Ben Brereton Diaz scored from the penalty spot and Reds fans could have feared the worst.

Instead, Forest dug in, stayed in the contest and scored three goals through a Callum Hudson-Odoi brace and a first Premier League goal for Ryan Yates.

It was quite comfortable in the end, but United certainly made Forest sweat in the first half.

The Reds only trailed for 10 minutes of the contest but were forced into the break tied.

During the break, Boly was seen reading the riot act to one of his teammates after some pretty mediocre defending.

Willy Boly was seen shouting at Forest star Murillo in the 45th minute of the win

He doesn’t do much wrong, but on Saturday, Murillo was in Boly’s firing line as Forest headed for the break.

Wayward defending had seen Forest forced to defend needlessly and Boly was not happy.

After a strong save by Matz Sels from Cameron Archer, Boly was seen delivering a rocket to Murillo.

The Brazilian – courted by Manchester City before signing for Forest – was fit to return after going off injured against the champions last week.

Boly’s words clearly had an impact on Murillo as he was brilliant during the match.

Who Scored showed that he made five turnovers, earned four steals and blocked three shots as well.

Murillo has high standards and goes for the top

In our opinion, Forest will struggle to keep Murillo beyond the summer.

He will make a serious return on the £10.4m Forest paid for him last summer.

The reason Boly tried on him is that he probably knows the high standards Murillo has been working to this season.

The 33-year-old wouldn’t be a bad role model for Murillo and if he had been fit more often this season, Forest would probably have stayed awake more easily.

A lack of leaders has often been cited by fans in 2023/24, but in Boly they have an inspirational player.

It would be amazing to think that Murillo could have another season at Forest, but we feel it is highly unlikely.

The challenge for the club is to get the best deal for a player who looks destined to play at the top of the game.
