Norwegian Cruise Line promotes single and solo cruises

Norwegian Cruise Line targeted both solo and single cruisers.

A solo cruiser is someone who travels alone and has a partner who happens to not be with them. This group wants to get to know other people, but is generally not looking to make a romantic connection.

A single cruiser is someone who is not in a relationship. They could sail alone or they could sail with friends or family. Norwegian Cruise Line decided to follow both groups with a fleet renovation that added more than 1,000 single rooms to its ships.

This includes three types of new solo cabin categories: Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview and Solo Balcony. Prices have been set based on demand, but single travelers can expect to pay less than a traditional double room.

Traditional cruise cabins are priced based on double occupancy. Generally, this means that someone sailing alone will pay twice as much (but only taxes and fees for one).

“Guests staying in the new solo stateroom categories will also have access to keycard-only Studio Lounge access, available on select ships, which offers a dedicated space for lounging, a bar stocked with beer and wine, and a variety of snacks served. daily,” the cruise line said on its website. “In addition to their own lounge, solo cruises can enjoy scheduled activities for solo travelers to mix and mingle.”

Norwegian recently shared a Tweet to promote its singles cruise:

“Imagine having no pressure to do anything but what you want to do. You’ll quickly discover that solo cruising can be just as much fun as traveling with others,” X, formerly of Twitter, posted.
