Timefold, a Belgian startup that uses AI to help companies create operational plans such as scheduling employee shifts, has raised $6.7 million in funding.

Based in Ghent, Belgium, the co-founder of Timefold believes that major industries such as transportation, logistics and supply chain businesses can improve their complex infrastructure.

“Planning is everywhere and often hidden in plain sight, but effective schedules are rare,” Geoffrey De Smet, CTO and co-founder of Timefold, said in an announcement. “From the field service technician who comes to fix your boiler to the aircraft assigned to your next flight, schedules run all over the world. We tackle complex planning problems by providing production-ready planning models for IT teams to easily run, test, and configure.”
