What time does the Fury vs Usyk fight start and how to watch the live stream on TV and PPV in the UK

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will go down to see who becomes the undisputed heavyweight champion later today (Saturday, May 18). The Gypsy King will take on the Ukrainian national team at the Kingdom Arena in a match that has been dubbed the Ring of Fire and is arguably the most thrilling boxing match of a generation.

It marks the first undisputed heavyweight title fight since 1999, when Lennox Lewis won all four major world titles with a victory over Evander Holyfield. Both of this weekend’s contenders have impressive records, with current WBC heavyweight champion Fury boasting 34 wins, 24 knockouts and a single draw against Deontay Wilder in 2018.

Usyk has an unblemished record of 21 wins and currently holds the WBA, IBF and WBO titles. So far he has fought just five heavyweight bouts, including a win over Anthony Joshua in 2021, and has been an Olympic, European and world champion at amateur level.

However, he faces a formidable challenge against his Manchester-born rival, with Fury standing 6ft 9in compared to 6ft 3in and being seven inches taller. Despite being the favourite, Fury admitted he is not underestimating his opponent.

“Usyk is a really bad man and to underestimate Usyk would be a mug,” he told Queensberry Promotions. “I train hard for him, I do everything I can.

“I respect Usyk as a man. I also respect his career – Olympic champion, undisputed cruiserweight champion, unified heavyweight champion. You have to respect that, I’m not fighting a guy who’s had 14 and won 11. I’m fighting the real deal.”

Both fighters are set for a massive payday thanks to the £115m purse. Fury, 35, is expected to share £80m, while Usyk, 37, will take home £35m. So, as fans around the world prepare for this much-anticipated match, here’s when the action starts and how you can watch it live from the UK.
