What Corey Brent did to Seb

Coronation Street villain Corey Brent rears his head again this week, upsetting Abi and Nina, who are both devastated to find out what the killer is up to now.

So who was Corey Brent and what did he do?

Coronation Street villain Corey Brent Corey first arrived on Coronation Street as a pupil at Weatherfield High, who caught the eye of Asha Alahan.

Their romance didn’t get off to the best start because Corey actually liked Asha’s partner Amy, but they eventually got together.

Unfortunately for Asha, her relationship with Corey coincided with her body image issues. So when he persuaded her to strip during an online chat, the vulnerable teenager agreed – only to find her photos spread around Weatherfield and even uploaded to a porn site.

Forgive and forget?

Asha eventually forgave Corey and they rekindled their romance – much to the disgust of Asha’s father, Dev.

There was a bit of back and forth as Asha explored her sexuality and began a romance with Nina Lucas, but ultimately decided Corey was the one for her.

They moved in together, but it was clear they weren’t exactly love’s young dream.

Crime!

In May 2021, Corey and a group of friends attacked Nina and her fiancé, Seb Franklin. Both victims were seriously injured, but while Nina recovered, Seb died.

Nina and Seb’s mother Abi were devastated and struggled to come to terms with the tragic death.

Meanwhile, Corey – who was a promising footballer playing for Weatherfield County – blamed Kelly Neelan for the murder.

When he was charged with murder alongside Kelly, Corey was able to play the victim and his father bribed the jury to let him go.

He even discovered that he was the victim of a smear campaign to garner public sympathy.

Street of horror nation

On Halloween 2021, a desperate Abi held Corey at gunpoint when they were both trapped in a sinkhole. She forced a confession from him before they were saved by Roy and Corey escaped.

But eventually he and his father were cornered by Gary Windass, who took them to the police station.

Corey was charged with murder and pleaded guilty.

Telly shock!

In tonight’s episode, viewers saw Kevin Webster – Abi’s husband – devastated by the news that Corey will be featured in a documentary about prison football.

Shocked, he went straight to his ex-wife Sally, who is also Abi’s best friend, to ask for her advice.

But Kev still hasn’t told Abi – instead, he worries about what to do for the better.

But of course we know Abi will find out when she accidentally sees the documentary on TV in next week’s episodes.

Is Corey Brent returning to Coronation Street?

With Corey safely behind bars for his crimes, it’s certain he won’t be returning to Weatherfield anytime soon.

And Maximus Evans, who played the young criminal, will not reprise his role as Corey. The talented actor left to study acting and is busy elsewhere.

But that doesn’t mean Corey’s presence isn’t still weighing heavily on Nina and Abi, who take drastic measures to force the documentary makers to take their film off the air.

Will they succeed? And will there be repercussions for the determined pair?
