British tourists in Turkey face ‘investigation’ after ‘panic’ among locals

British tourists and holidaymakers have launched an urgent investigation after they sprinkled ash over a beautiful beach. Health authorities have taken water samples after the incident caused “panic” among Turkish beachgoers as spring continues.

British tourists have sparked a health alert in Turkey after wading into the sea to sprinkle their dead relative’s ashes on the holiday spot they loved. Tourists brought the ashes to Turkey to scatter them in a favorite place.

Swimmers warned that the spread of ash in the popular waters near the beach could endanger health, prompting an urgent response from the Regional Health Directorate. Restrictions on the scattering of ashes have caused heated debate in the past, as Britons have turned to bereavement forums to express their anger.

Responding to the story, one Briton said: “I think the emotional overload around death is getting out of hand. It’s a nice concept to scatter people to their favorite places, but impractical. My first long term partner asked to be scattered at Lords Cricket. Ground (No, I reached an agreement with his ex-wife and he was dumped by her in his favorite Nidderdale walking spot).

“My husband who died 3 years ago did not specify a preference. During covid when he died there unfortunately was not much room to suffer. I was asked not to scatter his ashes at our Cemetery local for public health reasons.I scattered my cat that was hit, in our garden and it takes ages for the ashes to decompose.

“Not what you imagine in a fit of excitement. Personally, I just have a basic cremation and I’m scattered on the funeral home park somewhere south where my husband went. Death can be as difficult as life itself if you let it. .”

But a second said: “People need to honestly learn to respect local customs and rules and not be so entitled. We can all argue about whether or not scattering ashes is safe. But people who live in a beautiful place have the right to make their own rules, and those who visit must respect them, unfortunately, this line will now become the main memory they have of their loved one. “
